BRITISH COLUMBIA MISSING CHILDREN STATISTICS 2001

In 2001, there were 19,511 reported cases of missing children in British Columbia. The 2001 missing children classifications are:

Runaways: 16,067
Wandered Away: 89
Parental Abduction: 79
Accident: 39
Stranger Abduction: 8
Unknown and Other: 3,236

In 2002, there were 19,702 reported cases of missing children in British Columbia, an increase of 191 from the previous year. The 2002 missing children classifications are:

Runaways: 15,421
Wandered Away: 119
Parental Abduction: 75
Accident: 20
Stranger Abduction: 8
Unknown and Other: 4,059

The fact that 4,059 children, over 10 children a day, an increase of 823 from the previous year, went missing in British Columbia and their fates are listed as Unknown and Other, raises many very serious questions.

According to Statistics Canada there are 888,237 children under the age of 17 in British Columbia; 455,952 are male and 432,237 are female.

In 2002, there were 66,523 reported cases of missing children in Canada. 182 children a day.

2500 A DAY, is an informative web site created on March 8, 2004 by former U.S. Intelligence Agent, Morgan Chai. Morgan Chai has worked and lived amongst the invisibles, the children that no one cares about. She knows first hand the reality of the horrors inflicted upon innocent children throughout world. She does not write anything that cannot be proven or documented.

LINDSEY'S LAW The purpose of this site is to raise awareness and garner support for Bill C-441, Lindsey's Law. The gaping hole in existing DNA legislation will be filled by allowing the collection of DNA from missing persons or their close relatives for the purpose of cross-referencing DNA from crime scenes and unidentified human remains. This legislation will provide answers for grieving families, justice for the victims and put violent criminals behind bars.

NOTE ** As this site was being built - late August 2002 - we were involved, to a minor degree, with what the RCMP classified as a Runaway. A 14 year old girl was coerced into leaving home by an older male. This male has a recorded history of recruiting young females into prostitution. He has been identified as a recruiter and receives payment for every female recruited. Many of his victims are taken into the United States. Several of these victims have never been seen again and their whereabouts remain unknown. These types of cases are more common than the general public is aware of. In our opinion the statistics on missing children are somewhat distorted, factors such a coercion and recruitment have not been taken into consideration for the classification.of.Child.Runaways.
